This is 2024

2024 has been another fantastic year for me, full of wonderful couples having amazing wedding days. It’s an honour to be trusted to capture so many special occasions which will be remembered and relieved for years to come.

The year started with wedding no1 at Ellie & Si’s February wedding in Greenwich with some great views across the Thames (especially when a rainbow appeared across the water by the O2), and ended up in Norfolk with wedding no 35 for Naomi & Aaron’s wedding in the middle of Storm Bert. The storm put paid to the idea of nipping out to the beach for couple shots, so we headed up the day before while it was still sunny to take advantage of the nearby coast.

In July I had my first ever experience as a primary photographer at an Indian wedding. Having previously only second shot for friends of mine at Indian weddings it was great to take the reins for the first time at Lucy & Sandeep’s Hindu wedding at Offley Place. For that wedding I was awarded a coveted ‘Story Award’ from This is Reportage, which is the wedding industry’s foremost awards body for documentary wedding photography.

World Class Documentary Wedding Photography

After taking 2023 off entering awards I was back on it for 2024 and it’s been a successful year. The highlight of which was finishing 5th in the world (and 3rd in the UK) with This is Reportage. As the wedding industry’s foremost awards body for documentary photography, TiR is incredibly competitive. Hundreds of photographers enter each round, with approx 10,000 images being submitted on average and only 2-3% of images being selected for award status.

I think that finishing so high up with 6 individual awards and 5 story awards is testament to the consistency of my approach at each and every wedding, meaning I’m producing high images quality each and every time for my couples.

I’ve also finished inside the World Wide Top 10 with Photographers Keeping It Real – the 4th time I’ve finished inside the Top 10 with PKIR in 4 attempts.

This year I have also entered Masters of Wedding Photography for the first time, and while we wait for the final round of judging to be announced I currently sit 3rd in the UK.

A huge thanks to all my 2024 couples.

Here are my favourite images from the past 12 months. I can’t wait to get stuck into my 2025 season, it’s got some big shoes to fill!
