Nancy & Callum’s Summer Wedding at Lodge Farm

Some wedding days just feel like summer. Nancy & Callum’s Lodge Farm wedding was one of those days. Bright blue skies, blazing sunshine, and the kind of relaxed, happy energy that carries from morning right through to the last song of the night.

Nancy & Callum wanted a day centred around people, not posing. The kind of wedding where the story unfolds naturally. Exactly what I loved about my first experience of Lodge Farm wedding photography.

A Sunny Start at Lodge Farm

Lodge Farm is one of those venues that really comes into its own in the sunshine. The gardens were looking incredible, and everything felt calm, open, and full of light.

Nancy & Callum had created a day that felt completely them. Relaxed, welcoming, and full of personality.

An Outdoor Ceremony in the Garden

The ceremony took place outside in the garden and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

With the sun shining down and everyone gathered closely around, it felt intimate and personal. There’s something about outdoor ceremonies that strips everything back to what matters most — the two of them, their families, and that shared moment.

Callum wore a kilt which nodded to his Celtic heritage and it added a brilliant sense of character. It also tied in perfectly with their shared love of rugby — something that came up again and again in conversations, speeches, and the overall feel of the day.

Award Winning Storytelling

I was delighted to pick up a This is Reportage ‘Story Award’ for this wedding. Story Awards are 15-20 images from one wedding and are given to only the highest level of excellence in storytelling. They are notoriously hard to win!

A Day Built Around People

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how much time Nancy & Callum gave themselves to simply be present.

No long lists of formal group shots. No over-structured timelines. Just space to enjoy their guests, soak it all in, and let the day unfold naturally.

We kept portraits simple and relaxed — a short wander, a few quiet moments together, nothing forced. The rest of the day was all about capturing what was really happening: laughter, hugs, reactions, and those in-between moments that tell the full story.

That’s always the goal with my approach to Lodge Farm wedding photography — documenting the day as it felt, not staging it.

An Epic Evening Party

And then came the party…

With a live band kicking things off, the evening went from great to unforgettable pretty quickly. The dance floor was packed, the atmosphere was electric, and it felt like nobody wanted the night to end.

This is where documentary wedding photography really shines — no interruptions, no staging, just capturing the chaos, the movement, and the moments as they happen.

From wild dance floor scenes to quieter moments just outside, the whole evening had that perfect mix of energy and emotion.

A Perfect Lodge Farm Wedding

Nancy & Callum’s wedding was everything a summer wedding should be — relaxed, joyful, and full of life.

Lodge Farm provided the perfect backdrop, but it was the people, the atmosphere, and the way the day was allowed to unfold naturally that made it truly special.

If you’re planning your own Lodge Farm wedding and want photography that focuses on real moments rather than staged ones, this is exactly the kind of day I aim to capture.
